Three weeks ago our son flew in from London to Sydney on business. The next day we had a lovely banquet together at a hotel, and the service we received from the waitress assigned to our table was excellent. I complimented her on her superb service and how she assisted in creating a wonderful afternoon for us. A few minutes later she comes by and gives me a Lindt chocolate bar in appreciation which I put into my purse.
Upon our arrival home, Charlie gives us a big hearty welcome along with his usual sniffing of all the purses, pockets and bags to see if there is anything interesting for him. While he is greeting everyone and doing his usual inspections, I dash into the office and put my purse on the desk. My husband shortly thereafter goes to the refrigerator to give Charlie a treat, who usually is right behind him, but this time he is nowhere to be found.
We look around for him, and here he comes slowly walking out of the office with that sheepish look on his face...and guess what....that Lindt chocolate bar that I was looking forward to indulging in is now in his mouth already partially chomped on, and no way is he going to give up the rest of his loot!
We have named him, "Pick-pocket Charlie".
